Five vacationing college students   spend a weekend of fun in an isolated cabin in the wooded mountains of Tennessee. unfortunately, our heroes find the "Book of the Dead", play a tape recording of demonic incantations, and open a portal to the netherworld. "The Evil Dead lie in wait for the one ancient incantation that will give them license to passess the living..."
The college students unwittingly resurrect these slumbering demons, and are forced into battle with the supernatural forces that occupy the forests and dark bowers of man's domain. The innocent must suffer. One by one, the students are passed by these demons whose thrist for revenge is insatiable.
As the survivors see their friends and love ones turned into hideous, murdering demons, they learn that the only way to kill the possessed is to dismember their bodies.
