fanatics, Boogeymen is right up their alley."

The Plot
Clips from the most famous modern horror films compiled together in one
incredible DVD, featuring Freddy, Jason, Michael Myers, Leatherface, Pinhead,
Chucky, Candyman, Tall Man, Wishmaster, Leprechaun, and more!
The Movie
Who hasn’t wanted their own “killer compilation?” Sure, you can do it with a VCR
and various films, but with Boogeymen, you just pop the tape in a enjoy.
Boogeymen is not only a treat for hardcore horror fans, but it’s a great feature
for those just getting into the genre. The DVD starts out with a bang, with
great clips from Hellraiser and A Nightmare on Elm Street. The featured
Wishmaster scene is okay, but better scenes could’ve been picked. The featured
Texas Chainsaw Massacre scene is great, but I would’ve preferred the chase
through the woods from the film’s midsection. The scene from Scream is another
“What’s your favorite scary movie?” and was too long, I felt.
Chucky’s scene is decent enough, but as others before, a better scene could’ve
been picked. Candyman’s scene is more atmospheric than action oriented and I
liked the clip a lot. Leprechaun’s clip is suitably ridiculous and should please
his fans. The oddballs, Simon, Camilla, and the Dentist aren’t shunned, but
their inclusion feels forced so the feature has a longer running time. Blade the
Puppet’s scene is okay. The Fisherman’s scene is one of the better scenes from
the film. Norman Bate’s scene should’ve been the Shower Scene, but we get the
finale instead. The Tall Man’s scene is quite spooky and I think it was the best
scene to include.
Jason’s scene from Jason Goes to Hell is as hum drum as they come. There were
endless possibilities for a Jason scene and this is possibly the worst one. Even
the surprise ending of part 1 would’ve been better. Michael’s scene is very
intense, taut, and well done. It’s also the longest scene.
Boogeymen is a true treat. From the casual newbie to the hardcore horror
fanatics, Boogeymen is right up their alley.
The DVD
The DVD is very good quality and its supplement is really worthy of the feature
itself. The picture quality is fine, though the older movies are lesser quality.
The DVD has 5.1 surround sound, so the sound is A okay. The menus are pretty
cool as well. The special features are all high quality, especially commentary
by Robert Englund. This is one of the best audio commentaries I’ve heard and was
really informative. Englund is a horror film encyclopedia and his audio
commentary never really lets up.
The “Name the Frame” game is fun but gets boring quickly. FlixFacts Animated
trivia is a nice addition but some of the Trivia seems, well, trivial. The
“Legends of the Boogeymen” is interesting but hardcore horror fans will already
know this information. The trailers are enjoyable, too. A hidden clip can be
accessed by going to Special Features, than FlixMix recommends, than press right
on the control at the FlixMix Recommends menu. Jack Frost 2 is highlighted.
Select it, and a Jack Frost clip is shown. This is a very good DVD.
