winter abyss
by T.M. Gray
Melancholy powder
of snow sleep falling.
Unseen keepsakes, we.
Come, drink the white voodoo
of pact primal while
the whispering darkness dreams.
Daylit eyes on the threshold
are smothered souls
shrouded in silver spells.
Crystaline curtains dance
as the incubus frost rushes in.
Let us dine on the icy ruins at dawn
just to crush the madness
of our winter asylum.
This is where nightmares extinguish
the seasonal pendulum.
We know not how to thaw.
