STAGEGHOST

PLOT
A stagecoach rolls into the station on its regular schedule,
but something's not right. The stage coach was empty, and the
seats were covered in blood. The sheriff and the other people
waiting at the station decide to get on the stage coach and
go to the civilisation anyway as the old couple running the
station gets killed by someone... or something. Someone doesn't
seem to want them to get back to the city, and that someone
doesn't mind using drastic measures.

REVIEW
When I sat down to watch this, I knew from the beginning that
I had once again been fooled by a cool DVD cover. But in
some way I grew to like it. This is not a horrormovie and
who ever calls it that doesn't know the meaning of the word
horror. I can stretch myself as far as calling this a western-
thriller, but that's it. The thing that bothered me the most
I think was that I was expecting a ghost movie, and didn't
get any ghosts at all, talk about false promotion!

You can tell that the director worked hard to make this look
higher budget than it was, unfortunately it didn't work all
the time, but it's close enough so I have to give some credits
to the director. The scenery is beautiful, with the valleys and
the western country. I don't really know what to say about
the acting as all of the cast have their good and bad parts,
sometimes they seem like crap actors, and sometimes excellent.
Very weird experience indeed.

The movie fails to get the suspense up and it also fails to
deliver us a person to root for. I don't know why they promoted
this as a horrorfilm since it's got almost nothing to do with
horror at all, I think it would have been much more liked by
people whom like western movies than the average horror audience.
The stupid green skeleton suits really ruined the feel of this
movie aswell, they should really have dropped that idea completely.

GORE
I'm guessing you already figured out that this isn't very gory
since it's not really a horrormovie. We do get the casual gore
though, like some gory gunshots and some arrows in stomach and
stuff like that. We also get a rotten severed hand and a very
gory bashed in head.

SOUNDTRACK
Even if the movie wasn't all that great, the soundtrack was.
We get some fast paced bongo drums and an awesome western
track that I ended up whistling along to.

BOTTOM LINE
If you like western movies you should definitely give this a
try, but if you're looking for a ghost movie, you've came to
the wrong place. This is nothing more than a western thriller
and that's all it is. I still found this entertaining and I
don't regret for one second that I bought this DVD.
