SHRIEKER

PLOT
Clark moves into an abandoned hospital taken over by a couple of
student friends. When Clark discovers that something isn't quite
the way it should, finding weird marks and ritual like burnings on
the floor, she starts to investigate the hospitals history. What
she finds out isn't very pleasent... it seems as if people working
at the hospital had been killed by a mysterious shrieking killer
who was never caught. Now it seems as if the killer is back to
get rid of whoever comes near the hospital.

REVIEW
Shrieker is your average Full Moon movie; There is some suspense
but nothing that will scare the living hell out of you, the actors
can be recognized from lots of Full Moon movies that you've seen
before, there's a cheesy monster and there is always lots of
inappropriate fog everywhere. Still, this was a lot better than
I had expected it to be. This is a fast paced teen horrormovie
which does keep you mildly entertained for about an hour.

The acting is very full moon standard just like the rest of the
movie. I recognized almost all of these actors from some other
low budget horrormovie. The directing is alright, I'm not very
fond of David DeCoteau's way of directing as it usually comes
out very cheesy despite the totally descent budget.

Now, to the bad parts, I had the madman figured out from the first
time we were introduced to the characters, I think it was pretty
obvious. Then it seemed as if Full Moon wanted to extend the movie
a bit from its short running time of 1 hour and went for a twist
ending to extend it to approx 70 minutes instead. This twist ending
felt as if it had been made up at the very end of the movie since
it made absolutely no sense, this breaks the same rule as 'Do You
Wanna Know A Secret' did, if you've seen that, you know what to
expect. A descent movie with a totally bogus ending, could we
really expect more from Full Moon?

I think that they realised pretty quick that it wasn't going to
be an amazing movie since it felt very rushed and I wouldn't have
minded if they had stretched out the movie a bit more than they
did, you know, a movie can be slow in some parts without becoming
boring. Many lowbudget directors seem to do this mistake nowadays,
trying to keep it interesting all the time, come on, people need
to have some slow parts so that they can go to the toilet and such.

GORE
Some quite gory face rips, but nothing special.

SOUNDTRACK
Is there anything that doesn't feel like an average Full Moon
production about this movie? I don't think so. The soundtrack was
also very Full Moon, using strings and some creepy music to
create some atmosphere, if you play it really loud I think you
should be able to hear a rock pop tune in there aswell.

BOTTOM LINE
Average Full Moon movie, nothing that we haven't seen a thousand
times before. The monster is cheesy and looks very fake. I can't
say that I think this is a bad movie though, cause I actually
thought it was pretty descent, I suggest that you check it out
if you wanna kill an hour or want to watch a short horrormovie.
