SASQUATCH

PLOT
A rescue team sets out in the forest to search for survivors from a
plain crash. But no survivors are to be found, instead, they are now
being hunted by a giant creature, which seems to have killed the people
from the plain crash, and now it's out to kill them.

REVIEW
Common sense tells you not to get your hopes up for a movie about a
killer sasquatch, but as people started talking about it, making a
big buzz for it, my expectations started to grow... After watching
it I have to say that I'm a little disappointed. This was basically
a Sasquatch version of the low budget horrormovie Sabretooth (which
was not made much earlier). The movie is still a lot better than
Sabretooth, but it just has so many flaws and so little scares.

The directing is somewhat original, well, at least it hasn't been
used since the Predator movies. Still, I thought that the directing
felt cheap and the shaky scenes were just plain stupid and added
nothing to the movie. The Blair witch rip-off footage that we get is
also just an annoying factor, reminding you of that bogus horrormovie.
The acting is descent, could have been a lot worse so I don't think
I will be too hard on these actors (since most of the cast is quite
inexperienced, only one face to be recognized).

We got very little Sasquatch action and a lot of slow, meaningless
action. Not to talk about how ridiculously fake the Sasquatch looked.
It was so obvious that it was a guy in a gorilla suite, I mean,
I thought that the Sasquatch was big? But it isn’t much taller than
me, that's for sure. I don't have anything good to say about this
movie other than that it was quite entertaining, I might actually
watch this again sometime... but not in the near future.

GORE
Only some rotten corpses, if there would have been a little more
gore, I probably would have given this 3 stars.

SOUNDTRACK
Hmmmm, most of it is really just easy listening or atmospheric
music, which can be found in almost any DTV horrormovie. There were
some nice drums playing somewhere in the middle of the movie
though, and I just love drum music like bongos or congas to a
horrormovie, especially in a chase scene.

BOTTOM LINE
Could have been a lot worse, but it's nothing out of the ordinary...
well, except for the whole Sasquatch thing ofcourse. I wouldn't
suggest buying or even renting this, but, well, what the heck, if
you have nothing better to rent you could check this out, it isn't
a total waste of time.
