R.S.V.P.

PLOT
A couple of friends meet up one last time before Jimmy has to move,
but as the night goes and Jimmy never shows up, and the friends
start disappearing, a mad serial killer is planning the perfect
crime.

REVIEW
Well, when I first heard of this movie, I kind of expected it to be
a slasher, but instead I got an American Psycho style movie. Don't
get me wrong, this is not a spin-off or anything, it just reminded me
of American Psycho, it's really a very original movie. One thing
that this lacks off though is the fact that we don't really get to
know the serial killer very well, nor his friends. All they do is
sit in an apartment and smoke pot and drink.

As you can see on imdb, many people has connected this movie with
Hitchcock, well, I couldn't agree more. This movie is totally Hitch-
cocky. I don't really agree on the 8 something rating on imdb though,
on the other hand, I hated American Psycho, and loved the sequel...
I'm sure many of you who just read that will stop reading my reviews
now hehe. The killings in this movie are fairly original, I mean,
we've all seen them before, just not that often.

The acting was above my expectations, and the fact that the cast was
hip and good looking (well the girls anyway) didn't exactly ruin the
movie either. Still, my favourite character had to be Jimmy's totally
cool mom, she was very entertaining and had many surprises in store
for me. The directing was quite brilliant as well, I would really like
to know the budget of this movie, if anyone knows, please email me,
as the movie looks like something that would show on cinemas and be
on the top 10 at the box office.

There really aren't a lot of plot holes in this one either, on the
other hand, they never leave the apartment (well, not often anyways)
so how hard can it be to make a flawless film. Still, the movie kept
me interested almost until the end, I did get a bit bored at the end
as it didn't end the way I wanted it to. The killer wanted to make a
perfect crime right? Well how does he ever think that he can pull
that off if he keeps on leaving corpses just about everywhere?
Anyways, this is well worth the watch, if you liked American Psycho
and hated the sequel, this will be perfect for you, and even if
you didn't like American Psycho (like me) you'll still have a pretty
good time.

GORE
This movie plays mainly on suspense and violence, not so much on gore,
I think that if they would have had it gorier it wouldn't have had
came out as realistic, instead, it would probably just look a lot
cheaper, see this movie for the thrills and not for the kills.

SOUNDTRACK
The soundtrack is amazing, even though I had a hard time understanding
how it was relevant to the movie? We get a lot of classical music and
some good old rock'n'roll. I'm pretty sure I heard some salsa and
latin music somewhere in there as well. The soundtrack is pretty unique,
and gives the movie a nice atmosphere, just like in the old days.

BOTTOM LINE
I suggest you go watch this at some film festival, if it's showing on
any, as you never know when this is coming out on video... or is this
getting a cinema release perhaps?
