RINGU 0

PLOT
Bringing us back about 30 years, this movie tells us the story
of the life of Sadako in her teenagers. While starring in a
play, Sadako is accused for the deaths of a few people. They
all dies mysterious deaths and only one man is on Sadako’s side.

REVIEW
I never was a very big fan of this. I've seen it twice and still
I never got the point. It's a good movie, but it just doesn't make
much sense out of itself. It goes against many things in the
previous movies and if you compare it to the American remake of
Ringu, this makes no sense at all. If you haven’t seen any of
the Japanese Ring movies yet, this is the one to start with, even
if it was made last, because this is where it all begins.

The acting is good but nothing special, it's very hard to judge
how good the acting is when the movie is subtitled. The directing
is the best thing in this movie, I love those close ups of Sadako
while you see another person behind her, very creepy. Sometimes
it feels as if the director noticed that the movie didn't have
much contrast in it though, like in one scene where we get to
see some very bright green leaves for a second, not that it does
anything for the movie, just brings contrast.

I think it's safe to say that this was the worst of the Ringu
movies, but still it's not bad. It's just not very interesting.
While watching this movie, I just felt, gawd, there must be
something better to do, so I went out in the kitchen and grabbed
a snack and then came back... nothing had happened. I had seen
it before so I knew that as a fact. I will always think of this
as the movie that killed the Ringu sequels.

GORE
Nothing really, maybe some tiny blood splatter here and there
but nothing worth going into detail with.

SOUNDTRACK
Pretty much the same as the previous two movies, some piano music,
and some eerie sounds.

BOTTOM LINE
Average the first time you see it, but nothing worth seeing more
than once, I noticed that when I watched it the second time.
This is a movie that you rent, not buy, believe me, it's not
worth that kind of money. I know some people liked this but I
never liked prequels very much.
