LOVERS LANE

PLOT
Many years ago a couple was brutally slaughtered with a hook up
at Lovers Lane on Valentine's Day. Now, the murderer has escaped
from prison and Michael and a couple of his friends are going
up to Lovers Lane to celebrate Valentine. But what they don't
know is that a killer is already up there... waiting for them.

REVIEW
People say this movie is bad... why? It wasn't bad at all... it
was terrible! Copying just about everything it can from movies
like I Know What You Did Last Summer and Scream. This never got
a cinema release, and the DVD didn't pop up in stores until more
than a year after the VHS was released... still, this managed
to get a worldwide video release, now that's pretty impressive.
While the cover looks quite cool and the official site makes this
movie look brilliant. But as the opening scene started, my
expectations quickly went down hill.

These are all good actors, too bad that they had a rubbish script
to work with and come out as terrible actors. I know that they
can do better than this as I've seen almost all of them in other
films. The directing is annoyingly dark all the time, I promise,
about 20 minutes in total you can't see what's going on in this
movie and when the hottest girl in the film finally decides to
show us her equipment, it's too damn dark to see anything!

Deeply disappointing movie, this was the movie that made me
realise that you must never have high expectations for a slasher.
I'm still very happy that Showcase Entertainment decided to
make this film cause otherwise we wouldn't have gotten the
really cool slasher Shredder. I only hope Shredder gets a release
as wide as this did.

GORE
We get a knife in one's leg, a severed doggy head, a severed
hand and way too many slit throats. This is so average modern
slasher gore in my eyes.

SOUNDTRACK
There was a soundtrack? Except for like one rock tune that was
played for a few seconds, I didn't really hear much of a soundtrack
in there, this was probably the most disappointing thing in this
movie, at least it could've had a cool drum'n'bass tune playing in
a cool chase scene, but we didn't even get a chase scene.

BOTTOM LINE
Poor slasher, which doesn't even have a piece of originality to
it. The entire movie is very clichéd and it just doesn't have
enough of things going for it for me to rate it higher than I
did. Some slasherfans might like this, but only like real die-
hard slasherfans, I used to consider myself one... before I saw this.
