HOBBS
END

PLOT
Lacey is a widdow since a couple of years back. When her friend Cindy
sends her a plummer to repair the pipes in the house, a demented
serial killer comes along. Lacey now has to fight for her life to
survive the mad serial killer and get out of the house.
REVIEW
This is a love it or hate it film, I loved it. Catarina Conti does
a beautiful job on playing the lonely widdow in her secluded house
in the snowy village Hobbs End. This movie was surprisingly well
directed and the sound is crystal clear. Although, it has some
major plot holes and flaws, I won't go into details as that might
ruin the movie for you. But the plummer, Todd, just isn't very
believable, within 20minutes of the movie he still hasn't done
any plumming but he has kissed the lovely Lacey, and drank her wine,
and given her instructions on how to make the food, it just doesn't
mux.
The movie is quite slow and feels stretched at some points, it isn't
a horrormovie at all, I would say that it's more of a dramathriller.
The last 30 minutes of the movie are still very intense and the
suspense is at max, well it was for me anyway, my friend who I watched
it with thought the whole movie was rubbish, I guess maybe I'm not
very picky these days as I see so many terrible lowbudget horrormovies.
It's very unpredictable and it uses a lot of loud noices to frighten
the audience which I don't like, I think that those are just cheap
scares. Also, one other thing that bothered me is that Lacey works
with art, but still, she seems to know just about everything about
schizophrenia. I still wanna point out that this movie gave me a
hell of a good time, beneath all the plot holes there is a suspensfull
thriller, and as I said, I'm used to looking past plot holes so for me
this was basically just a really good suspensfull thriller.
GORE
Not a lot of gore in this movie I'm afraid, we do get some blood
splatter, a severed head and a severed arm but that about covers it.
SOUNDTRACK
I LOVE the opening music, really gets you the feeling of how far out
on the country you really are. The soundtrack consists mostly of the
regular strings and dark eerie music which works very well for the
movie, you can never go wrong with strings right?
BOTTOM LINE
If you like TV-thrillers, this is definitely one for you, even though
this isn't a TV-thriller, it plays exactly like one, just that it looks
like it has a higher budget, very well directed indeed! On the other hand,
if you're looking for a horrormovie, look somewhere else, this is a
thriller and nothing else.
