PLOT
Happy Tree Friends is a compilation of short happy tree friends movies.
Come along as the tree friends experience all kinds of things. It doesn't
seem to matter how innocent and calm a day begins, it always ends in
disaster anyway...
REVIEW
I've always been a big fan of the happy tree friends as I love cartoons
and I love gore, mixing them together just can't go wrong. Volume One
doesn't include all of the movies that I have seen on the happy tree
friends site so I'm hoping there will be a Volume Two. I know that this
is terrible but I couldn't help laughing, and when I didn't laugh I
whistled along to the adorable but very annoying theme track. I was a
bit disappointed to see that just about everything on the DVD could be
found on the site aswell, if you just have a little patience. Although,
the picture quality was brilliant and the sound was remastered in Dolby
Digital so that really lifted the DVD edition.
What to say about the acting? Hmmm... Well, I can tell you this, I have
two personal favourites and those are Flakey and Disco Bear, Disco Bear
being the coolest. This is very well animated with the help of shockwave
technology and it looks really good on the big screen TV aswell.
You can easily kill one hour with these furry little animated cartoons
and you won't even notice that an hour has gone. That's what I love
about short movies. I was disappointed to see that my two favourite
episodes weren't included on the DVD. I think it's time for the
creators of Happy Tree Friends to bring us a full length Happy Tree
Friends movie, I'm sure it would be killer. I just have to say that
I love these short movies and I can watch them about a thousand times
without getting tired of them.
GORE
A LOT of furry gory cartoon action, I won't give you all the nasty details
but let's just say that the gore department brings us a split in half
toon, a lot of paw dismembering, some head dismembering, some cool but
nasty tooth action and a lot of intestines and guts and a lot more!
SOUNDTRACK
I love the annoying theme track and I just can't seem to get it out of
my head, it's like a new Hamster Song phenomena, don't tell me I didn't
warn you that it would stick to your head.
BOTTOM LINE
Like so many other horrorfans, I just love Happy Tree Friends, and if you
love them as much as I do, I can almost promise you that you will find
the DVD very well worth the money. Let the tree friends bring out the
evil little child in you!
