GENERATION AX

PLOT
A spot just opened as a cheerleader in the Beavers cheerleading
squad and outsider Leslie is desperate to get it. When a brown-
haired bimbo gets the spot instead of her, Leslie's best friend
Blair decides to take matters into her own hands. Later at a rave,
Blair meets a guy called Todd whom she seems to have a lot in common
with. They both believe that the time has come for them to eliminate
all people who do something wrong.

REVIEW
Generation Ax is an independent horrormovie from Horse Creek
Productions. This is one of those scream-esque box art movies that didn't
reach out to the public... I can see why. Since it kind of was a
slasher, it still wasn't one of those hip and trendy ones where
the killer wears a cool creepy mask or even a hood, oh no, this
movie was just really really bad and there wasn't even any hot
teens in sight.

The acting is bad from most actors but worst of the worst is Marina
Morgan, playing Blair, she can't even seem to be able to speak
properly, it's as if she was on drugs during the whole shooting of
the film (which probably didn't take more than a day). The directing
is bad as you have to change the contrast and colours on your TV all
the time since the faces get all glowy now and then, especially in
that annoying red light they seem to love so much. Other than that
the camerawork is quite good, the camera is always steady and never
shakes or anything but the picture is a bit blurry at times and
it didn't help much transferring it to DVD.

While I was really frustrated over paying 15 bucks for the German
Red Edition DVD, I still thought that it could've been worse. I mean,
yes it was extremely predictable, and yes there were plot holes to
be found just about everywhere. I was very upset that the only hot
girl in the movie is the one that drops first, I mean, unless you
like Marina Morgan (who in my opinion desperately needs a nose job).
I can safely say that I have lost all my interest in watching Crinoline
Head after this and any other future Horse Creek horrormovies
there might be. Very disappointing.

GORE
Nothing! Can you believe it? There is no gore at all except some
very cheap ketchup squeezed here and there.

SOUNDTRACK
Some amateurish pop and rock music along with some wannabe techno
music, nothing special and feels very outdated.

BOTTOM LINE
Surprisingly bad movie, which takes the slasher concept, mixes it with
a really lowbudget shit flick, throwing in way too many guns and then
putting the script into the shredder just so that they could make the
movie up as it went along. It's not surprising that it's only found
distribution in one country (and that's from the company that released
The Last Slumber Party on DVD for crying out loud!) Take my advice,
stay away from this movie, its bad but there's something in it that
keeps you from pressing the eject button, I don't know what, perhaps
the fact that you stare at the running time constantly, but it's
still something that made me give it one star.
