FINAL
DESTINATION 2

PLOT
When some people manage to cheat death when they were supposed
to die in a huge traffic accident, Kimberly Corman (A.J. Cook),
one of the soul survivors of the accident, start to believe that
what happened a year ago on Flight 180 is happening again.
No one seems to believe her at first, but when the survivors
from the accident start dropping dead unexplainably, they have
no other choice than to believe in her.
REVIEW
I loved the first Final Destination and didn't think even in
my wildest dreams that they could make a good sequel for it.
But I guess they proved me wrong. This is an excellent sequel
and is just as good, if not even better than the first movie.
Final Destination 2 manages to do something that the first
movie didn't, it manages to keep your interest in the end.
I guess they must've noticed that many were disappointed by the
ending in FD1 and decided to do something entirely different.
A.J. Cook is a brilliant actress indeed and I think we will be
seeing a lot of her in the near future. Only one person from
the first movie was in this one though, Ali Larter, and as
always, she is incredibly easy to root for, perhaps that was
because we also saw her in the previous movie though. David R.
Ellis keeps his directing classy and good looking. The scene
where the log falls of the truck is just brilliantly shot and
made me think about the bomb bouncing on the submarine in
Below (2002) scene which was also very intense.
I really hope that this movie becomes a huge box office hit as
I would really like to see a third final destination, although,
the rumour has it that Final Destination 3 might be a spoof of
the previous two movies, what a bad idea, it will piss people
off completely. There was one thing that bothered me about this
movie though, there were just too many twists and they just
confused me in the end. This is a brilliant movie though and I
hope that all of you who read this review go to see this on
the big screen as it deserves it. Not often a sequel is as good
as the first movie.
GORE
Nope, no gore at all... Just kidding, goriest movie to
get shown on the big screen in ages. We get a burnt severed arm,
a not so graphical head-crushing scene, a surprisingly unbloody
body crush, one gets a ladder impaled through the eye, one gets
the head severed, someone gets a pipe through the head and one
person gets split in three parts a la Ghost Ship.
SOUNDTRACK
We get a wild mix in the soundtrack department with the usual
atmospheric strings and then some rock music and also some pop
music and then some hip hop aswell. I have to say that the
soundtrack in the first movie was a bit better but it's still
very good in this aswell.
BOTTOM LINE
Surprisingly good sequel with many twists and plot turns. It's
been a long time since I saw a movie with this amount of gore
in it aswell, it might even top Kolobos (1999). Definitely worth
the money, so go see it on the big screen, I'm telling you, you
will thank me after you've seen it.
