FINAL DESTINATION

PLOT
A class is going to France on a school trip, but when Alex
has a premonition about their plain exploding right before
its about to lift off, he and six other students run off the
plain, only to see the plane explode in the air, with all of
their friends on it. About a month later, the sole survivors
start dropping dead one by one, and Alex is almost certain
that death is coming for them.

REVIEW
Last time I saw this was in 2000, and now that I've seen
Final Destination 2, I just had to watch this again, to see
if it really was as good as I remembered it to be... Well,
it was. I miss the teenage slasherwave that went on in the
beginning of the 2000's. It was nice to see a horrormovie
with a hot cast on the big screen, I can safely say that
Valentine and Urban Legends 2 killed this wave, even if I loved
Valentine, it still ended there.

If you've read some of my other reviews, you probably already
know that I think Ali Larter is a terrific actress so I won't
go on about her once more. The rest of the cast is also very
good and very slasher friendly. The directing is nothing
special at all though, even if it's a great movie, there was
nothing really eye-catching about the directing, except for
perhaps the explosion, which was done incredibly well.

I wish that this teen slasher wave would come back, for even
Final Destination 2 brought in a cast, which wasn't as teen
as this. I keep going on about how much I love this movie so
you probably started to wonder why I only gave it four stars...
well, while the movie is really good, it gets kind of slow
and uninteresting towards the end. This is still one of my
all time favourite slashers though, and I will probably watch
it a few more times.

GORE
Not very gory, only a dismembered head (which was way cool by
the way), and a knife through ones stomach, the rest isn't
really worth mentioning.

SOUNDTRACK
Pop and R'n'B is all we get, not much of a soundtrack here,
but this doesn't really need a soundtrack as it has a good
story instead, and to me that's more important than anything.

BOTTOM LINE
After two years, I still love this movie as much, and I hope
to see Ali Larter in yet another horrormovie sometime soon.
I was very surprised when I said to a couple of friends that
a sequel was on its way and no one had heard of Final Destination,
so if you still haven’t seen this, you must see it as soon as
you get the chance. Believe me, you don't want to miss this one.
