CHEERLEADER MASSACRE

PLOT
A killer is on the lose in the mountains. As a couple of cheerleaders run
out of gas on their way through the mountains, they have to seek cover in
an empty house up in the woods. It starts out as a fun creepy night of ghost
stories and sex but ends in disaster. These cheerleaders might have done
their last cheer.

REVIEW
As an unofficial fourth sequel to the Slumber Party Massacre movies, this
new slasher hits the stores as an unexpected surprise. The cover looks
amazingly much like the other Slumber Party Massacre covers but I know
that the director wasn't very happy with the cover and that it was only
going to be used for promotion... I guess they changed their mind. I have
yet to see the other sequels of Slumber Party Massacre but I have seen the
first one and I really thought it was quite good, I agree completely to
The ScareMaker's review on Slumber Party Massacre, it is way too underrated.
Though, after this, I hardly think that I will be watching the second or
the third sequel as this was surprisingly bad. The movie is sloppily put
together and it felt as if they were making up the movie as they went along.

When it comes to the acting, first of all let me point out that I think that
age hasn't exactly treated Brinke Stevens well, she's no longer the great
scream queen that she once was. Despite the fact that I don't think that
Brinke Stevens is a very good actress anymore, she's still clearly the best
actress in this low budget cheese fest. The acting is incredibly bad and
these girls aren't even good enough actresses to be in a low budget porno,
or good-looking enough for that matter. Director Jim Wynorski clearly didn't
have a very high budget to work with here since I've seen some of his other
works like "Project VIPER" & "Chopping Mall" and they looked a lot better
even if they were almost just as bad as this one. I will just take this as
a one time mistake Jim, don't worry about it.

I found Cheerleader Massacre to be incredibly stupid and dull for most
of the part and some things are just weird. For example, how the hell can
a girl put on more make up in the middle of the woods? There are many flaws
like that to be found here so that annoyed me surprisingly little. This is
one poor excuse for a horrormovie, you didn't get to know any of the girls,
it was all just strip nude and die, come on, it was like they had torn out
the originality from low budget slashers, that's not the easiest thing to
do. I don't think that even if this does well at blockbuster we will get
a fifth instalment, and I certainly don't hope so.

GORE
A guy with a decapitated head and blood spraying out from his neck is
certainly nothing to cheer about. Give me a G! Give me an O! Give me an R!
Give me an E! What does this movie lack of? GORE!

SOUNDTRACK
Pretty average for a slashermovie, nothing very noticeable or original.

BOTTOM LINE
One of the worst slashers I have ever seen, I sure hope that this is the
end of the before very respected slasher series by me. I don't think that
anyone should rent this or buy this, if you're a sucker for 5.1 sound I can
tell you that you barely notice that it's 5.1, it was poorly remixed and
I'd much rather watch Camp Blood again that watch Cheerleader Massacre again,
thank god it was only 70min long (excluding opening and ending titles).
