BLOODY
MURDER 2

PLOT
It's closing time at Camp Placid Pines and all the camp leaders
are getting ready to go home to the civilization again. When
there are only three days left before they can go home they
decide to play a game of Bloody Murder. Once again, someone has
taken the game way to seriously and starts killing everyone who
comes near the camp.
REVIEW
So, I'm guessing that I wasn't the only one who had read all these
smashing reviews on IMDB and Amazon? Well, I for one knew that
it was just one or two persons that had written all these reviews
to create a big buzz about the whole movie, and as easily fooled
some people are, the rumors about this being fantastic started
to spread quickly. I have to admit that even my expectations grew
quite high. And so this sequel finally sees the light of day, it
opens up in a cheesy dream sequence and your expectations drop
faster than a bomb. After the first 20 minutes or so, all you've
seen was almost identical to what happened in the first movie,
but when the movie finally gets going, this actually kind of
lived up to its rumors. It's gory, it's entertaining, and it's
naked. While not being a totally satisfying movie, this is still
so much better than the first one, and they actually replaced
that ridiculous hockey mask with a cool Halloween style one, which
resembled a bit too much of the mask used in Bleed.
This was the debut for many young good-looking actors and actresses
and I have to say that it was quite a good one, though I don't
think we will be seeing a lot of these actors again, perhaps some
of them but definitely not all. Katy Woodruff actually took me
by surprise as she gives a terrible performance to begin with
and slowly gets into character and ends up being a very talented
actress indeed. Rob Spera, who directed some of the worst movies in
horror history like Leprechaun In The Hood and Witchcraft is still
not a very good director, but he's improving. The directing looks
good and all, but the sequence transfers look bad and rough and
doesn't look very professional at all.
If you are one of those who's expecting a movie as bad as the
first one, you'd have to think again. While this is far from a flaw-
less movie, it's still very entertaining and doesn't rip off the
Friday The 13th movies as much as the first one did. Also, it
tries to get away from the average predictable teenage slashers,
going against just about every rule in modern slashers there is.
I actually hope that there will be a Bloody Murder 3, just to
see if they can improve it a bit more, maybe even get it onto the
video chart. Who knows, Bloody Murder 5 might even go onto cinemas
if they continue to improve as much as they did this time. There
was even a quite suspenseful scene in this movie, believe it or not.
GORE
Thank god there were no off screen killings, I was almost certain
that we only would get to see like one or two persons get killed.
Instead, we get a dismembered leg, a person loses the head, one
gets a machete vertically slashed into the head, one gets both
legs amputated by our nice killer, one gets a chainsaw through the
stomach and one gets an arrow through the neck. Then we have some
blood splatter aswell, which doesn't feel very necessary to bring up,
I mean, compared to what I just said.
SOUNDTRACK
This is where this movie really fails, using the exact same music
in two of the woods scenes as was used in the woods scene in the
low budget horrormovie Granny. The rest of the soundtrack is pretty
lame and definitely nothing original.
BOTTOM LINE
The movie that I didn't think was ever going to see the light of day
turned out to be better than it processor. This was actually quite
good and I want all of you to rent or buy this, just to support the
making of a third movie, which I think might be even better. The mask
has improved a lot since the last time, and I hope that if they make
a third one, they bring Trevor to the big city instead as I'm not
that fond of camp horrormovies. Still, this is something that I think
everyone should watch, just give it a try, I guarantee you that you
will like it more than the first one.
