Being a "Friday the 13th" fan, I was eagerly awaiting the arrival of this book, and boy was I delighted with it. Without doubt, this has to be one of the greatest documentations of the "Friday the 13th" saga ever put together in print.

Chronicling each film, including the 80's TV spin off, in intricate detail from conception to release, the book features interviews with all the films directors and principal actors from the original 1980 film through to 2004's  "Freddy vs Jason", and contains 100's of colour photos of publicity pictures, never before released production stills and concept artwork, including poster designs and storyboards.

With over 300 large size pages, there's a hell of a lot for fans to get there teeth into, all the interviews are quite honest and frank, with cast and crew members dishing out the details on what they hated as well as what they enjoyed about working on set in equal measures.

Some of the more interesting highlights include the story of how Warrington Gillette was replaced for the most part with an uncredited stuntman during the filming of part 2 and the various reasons behind Kane Hodder not getting the part of Jason in the final film.

With contributions from Sean Cunningham, Tom Savini, Adrienne King, Betsy Palmer, and virtually any and everyone involved in the saga, including all the actors who's played Jason, from Ari Lehman to Kane Hodder  and Ken Kirzinger and the three "Tommy's", Corey Feldman, John Shepard and Thom Mathews, this really is the definitive "must have" for all fans.

The book is currently only available in hard back format. The initial print run, which included several limited edition foil covers, quickly sold out. This reprint which features the standard cover (pictured above) is more reasonably priced and is more widely available.

I think I can honestly say that no self respecting Friday the 13th should be without this in their collection.
