logo.jpg (29930 bytes)Welcome to The Lurking Horror of Greyfriars Hall. This is partly a play online and partly a pbem game with a haunted house horror theme. The game can only be played in groups so you'll need to visit the How to Play page to find out how to go about setting up or joining a group.

Game specs

The game is mostly played online so internet access is a must. More complicated parts of the game are played by email so an email account is also essential. As a group it is up to you to decide how frequently you play, although most players like to play once a day or once every other day.

The game contains various adult themes of an horrific and possibly disturbing nature. For this reason I've rated it 18. If you are below this age or of an easily shocked disposition I would ask that you do not join in.

Antoine WiertzHungerMadnessCrime.jpg (10733 bytes)My thanks to Horrorseek.com for providing the free webspace for the game. Please note that they also provide the discussion forums and abuse of the forums is therefore severely frowned upon. There are very few dedicated servers for this kind of thing so please don't abuse the fact by posting spam, flames or any other pointless rubbish. Discussions of the themes involved in Lurking Horror are encouraged, as are player group discussions and roleplay. If you wish to advertise your own horror website you may do so but only if your website is hosted by Horrorseek.com and only if the website is of a horror nature. No Halloween websites please. Please makes sure any Horrorseek.com websites are advertised with [AD] in the subject header so only interested parties open your post.

cainDavidAlfaroSiqueiros.jpg (15813 bytes)The Lurking Horror is as much a journey into the darker side of history as it is a source of immersive entertainment - history to me is far more rich a source of horror than any b-movie director's imagination. Therefore the game is ideal for you if you like your entertainment to be simulteneously informative. Certainly most players will come away from the game more knowledgable on certain subjects and this can only be good in my opinion. As stated above there are dark and disturbing elements to Lurking Horror and this also reflects in the educational aspects of the game.
