but official screeners that I have been sent containing an as yet unreleased film to
review. All the reviews here have been reviewed either by myself or my current movie
reviewers. If you're an avid watcher of horror movies then why not join 'Castle Dracula'

- Cradle of Fear - UK DVD -

You would be very mistaken if you thought this film was only for 'Cradle of
Filth' fans. After all it does have all members of the band, past and present,
as actors and Dani Filth as one of the main characters.
This film is much much more than an extension of a 'Cradle of Filth' music video.
It actually has a decent plot plus all the blood and gore of a good horror.
If you do hate Dani Filth, then you will love the beginning of this film.
The master of filth and fear gets his head kicked in. But if you love him then
don't worry he does take his revenge in a way that will leave you wanting more
or hiding behind the cushions.
This scenario starts the sequence of events that are four unique stories from
the brilliant but sick mind of British director and writer Alec Chandon.
'Story one' sees Mel (Emily Bouffante) pick up 'the man' (Dani Filth) in a
typical 'metal nightclub' and take him home. Just like it says on the front cover
of the DVD, 'its not if they die, its how'. This comment says it all after watching
how this young girl dies.
'Story two' takes us to a house where two girls have broken in to steal from it.
Once again you are not left in any doubt about how everyone dies but are taken
through it step by step, leaving nothing to the imagination.
'Story three' shows us a rich man and his beautiful girlfriend, played by the
exceptional Eileen Daly who you should remember from 'Razor Blade Smile'.
This man has everything, money, beautiful women but he doesn't have the one thing
he truly wants and that is a real leg. Here he stops at nothing to get it and you
can imagine how gory these scenes are.
'Story four', well what can I say about this one. Words can't describe how sick,
twisted and deranged but truly imaginative and creative this piece is. You need
to see it to believe it.
All these stories are linked together by one person; a child murderer and cannibal
called Kemper, who because of his crimes is in a mental hospital. But his bidding
is done in the outside world by none other than 'the man' who turns up in all four
stories.
The finale is where the detective who has been on Kemper's trail finally goes head
to head with him. The ending is not to be missed. I guarantee you will never forget
the final confrontation.
The DVD itself contains a trailer that really does the film justice, behind the
scenes footage that shows Alex at work and also how some of the make-up effects
were created.
Lastly it has a vast array of bloody stills from the film and from the making of.
I hope this is the start of some decent English horror and the beginning of a long
career in the movie industry for Alex Chandon.
