- Limited Edition 12" 'Evil Ash' From 'Army Of Darkness' Figure -
As with the 'normal Ash' figure, here's a brief synopsis of the story for 'Army
Of Darkness,' the film whose main character this figure is based upon. Now in
the medievil 14th century, 'Ash' has been found by 'King Arthur,' where he is
mistakenly seen as 'one who was foretold to rid the world of the deadites.'
However he only wants to find a way back home. Learning the 'Book Of The Dead'
maybe the only thing that can help him, he sets out to retrieve it. But he fluffs
the magic words he must speak before removing it and he awakens a whole army
of 'Deadites.' The evil within him finally escapes his body to become a twisted,
evil version of 'Ash.' The evil version of 'Ash,' as this figure shows, is not
a pretty sight. Although a direct copy of 'Ash,'remember he is the twisted side
of 'Ash' and his look reflects this perfectly. Especially sice 'Ash' almost
destroyed the body of 'Evil Ash' completely before burying the remains. Only
for 'Evil Ash' to reawaken, still mangled when 'Ash' made a mess of retrieving
the 'Book Of The Dead.' His clothes are torn and bloody, his hair is matted,
his face would not look out of place on the head of a zombie in one of the many
'Living Dead' films. Upon his head he wears as a kind of unholy crown a skull
and bone type of helmet. Being the General of the 'Deadites,' 'Evil Ash' wears
armour, which consists of intricate pieces of bone and a rib cage. Add to that
a large, bloody sword complete with scabbard and this is an accurate representation
of the evil version of 'Ash.' As with the 'normal Ash,' I cannot find anything
to really pick at. Extremely well articulated, pin point accuracy detail, superb
packaging, again a stand to display the figure with the name of the character
and film name emblazoned upon it. In fact the only complaint that I have is
something so unforgiving that I cannot believe it exists. With both figures,
every detail is intact, you get items most associated with each character apart
from the one thing I thought would be the most obvious. Why does neither figure
come complete with a mini replica of 'The Book Of The Dead?'
Or am I just trying to have my cake and eat it as well. Apart from that, I cannot
recommend this figure enough. An extremely morbid looking creation for your collection.
