SYNOPSIS

A little girl is pushed a little too far, and snaps after watching a horror movie, causing her to murder on of the school bullies. Ten years later, she escapes from a mental institution, and comes back to take revenge on those who have betrayed her and made fun of her.

FILM FACTS

-The elementary school that was used in the movie, is the same elementary school that Scott Goldberg went to when he was a kid, which is called GRIBBIN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL.

-The name of Melissa Reitman is named after Scott Goldberg's cousin, Melissa Reitman.

-When people were sending headshots to deadendcasting@yahoo.com, Yahoo! deleted the account. Scott had to make up eight more screen names to receive attachments. Yahoo! kept on canceling the accounts. Scott just decided to switch to Hotmail.com, which is much better than Yahoo! (we are not plugging Hotmail.com!!).

-The original concept for the killer, was an all dressed in black costume, with a white bag over the face and one eyehole cut out, but it was too much like Jason's costume in Friday the 13th: Part II. (The all black costume, and bag over head was used for two scenes in the 1999 version of Dead End.

-The original script was written in the early summer of 1999 and it was based around the same idea, but it was meant to be shot with a couple of friends, and on no budget.

-The name of the brothers are the actual first names of three of the original actors that were supposed to be in the movie in 1999 (Joe, Angelo and Anthony), but in the original story, Joe was not a brother to Anthony and Angelo.

-The budget for the 1999 movie was $20

-The budget for the 2003 movie is $10,000

-Scott Goldberg used to be in Frank Milito's old band, Pandora but then was kicked out. Scott went on to sing for five other bands after that, and then decided to put that on hold and work on the Dead End script. He then called up Frank and asked him if he wanted to play as the lead role in the movie, and Frank accepted.

-The last name of the Kiernan family is the name of one of Scott Goldberg's friends in college, Brian Kiernan.

-The character names of Dana and Danielle, are the names of two of Scott Goldberg's ex girlfriends.

-The 1999 ending had Anthony and Angelo shoot the killer and have the killer fall out the window and stuff him into a garbage bag and bring him down to a swamp and drop him into it. The camera would be focused on a DEAD END sign, and then the killer would walk past it and we would cut to black. The shooting and falling out of the window was too much like the ending of Halloween.-

-In December 2002, the script was up to 50 pages. Scott asked Frank Milito if he would like to play the role of Joe. Frank read it and told Scott he would, but there needed to be more backbone to the movie. Scott wrote 30 more pages, with gory deaths and more suspense and that's how the feature length script came about.

-In December 2002, none of the actors playing Angelo, Anthony and Joe, were cast. The names of the actors were: David Lundari playing Anthony, Dan Walker playing Joe, and Matt LaStella. All of them backed out.

-During the filming of the elementary school scenes, in the principals office, the phone rang, and T. Berry picked it up and answered with "Glen Cove School District" and the person on the other line hung up.

-Nightmare FX Studios made the mask for Dead End. To license the mask was $800, but at the time Scott didn't have the money, so he let Jason, whom is the owner of the company and site, sell the masks on the site.

-During production, the final scene in which was shot in July came out bad, and due to location restraints, the cast and crew were unable to film at one of the houses. Scott rewrote the ending, and the alternate ending can be found on the DVD.

- Scott Goldberg (director of Dead End) and Dan DiLauro (Angelo Capo) had
been working on a draft copy of Dead End: Danielle's Revenge, but Scott decided
to get a second opinion, so he asked Jason Costanzo, the co-writer of Part 1
what he thought, and he told him that the script needed to be changed. It was
later decided that the script was to be written all over again.
- David Pugliano from West Des Moines, Iowa sent Scott a script entitled,
'Loma' and asked him if he wanted to direct the film in the near future.
Scott accepted because of the gory and disgusting scenes in the movie and
the scene will start filming in late 2004, right after Dead End II.

- Frank Milito and Scott Goldberg had discussed in February of 2003 that
there should be a trilogy to Dead End, but due to the unknown future, Scott
has decided Dead End II will possibly be the final chapter of this series,
but with the script in very early stages, there can be a door left open for
a part III. The treatment is being written.

- Someone had e-mailed Scott a few months ago asking to try out for the role
of David Gibson Jr. With the part already taken, Scott decided to send him
the script to read for kicks. Two days later, the person called back and
requested all the curses were to be taken out of the David Gibson Jr. part
in order for him to act in the movie due to his mothers requests. Scott
never talked to him again due to the crazy request. About the subject, Scott
says: "David is a street thug...you know? The person who
sweet talks ladies, the guy who wears gold chains and doorag. The guy who
curses every minute. How could I change that? The characteristics
would be gone and David Gibson wouldn't be David Gibson. That's why I
couldn't take out the curses."

- The house used for the party scene is actress, Nicole Andersen's house.

- The movie was edited in 2 months.
