Project Materials: Tools: Jigsaw (some cuts are much easier with a bandsaw). Power Sander (Belt, Orbital or Palm). Clamps. Paint Scraper (with a new scraping blade). Sandpaper (various grits). Putty Knife (or drywall knife, various widths). Materials: Less than two sheets of 2'x8'x1" extruded foam. Less than one half sheet of 2'x8'x2" extruded foam. Elmer's Wood Putty. Wallboard Joint compound. Construction Adhesive (Liquid Nails). Ceiling Texture. Paint. Tip: when glueing the foam, it helps to "pin" the pieces together with (4d to 6d) nails. Don't worry about the small holes left over when you remove the nails. Those will be filled later in the finishing stages. |
