It's the beginning of October, and I am beginning to feel the crunch.

Below is some of the work in progress from setting up this year. Here is what you can do with a couple of those cheap plastic skeletons from BIG LOTS- we bought 3- one for each of the kids- They arranged their own little scenerios.

Here is Mrs. Bucky .She was an ebay skeleton special that arrived the day after Halloween last year, so this is her debut !! We made her dress a little less glamorous after this shot was taken.

The witch made her way into the yard. I was tired of trying to come up with cauldron design ideas, so I bought one from Joanns. She'll have a walkman behind her spewing out her incantations and Madame Leota's spiel. She also will have a BBQ motor to make her hand stir her cauldron.

Next, is another new prop this year -a talking tombstone. This idea was taken from Brent's web page directions , with the link below

Devious Concoctions

.

Thanks Brent! - super idea ! It is made from Douglas Talking Fir Tree parts mounted into foam board and utilizes Crayola Modeling Compound- my favorite new toy . I love this stuff! [Brent uses oil based clay instead ] See Brent's page for further directions. He does a great job showing the important steps in this project. A big thanks also to Mike Fox from the Halloween- L list for pointing me in the direction of the correct Douglas Fir Tree to get. You want one with aux jack/ power cord inputs to be able to have him connect to the tape recorder- reading a story perhaps. I think he'll be a hit.

Here are my cemetery columns at night. There is a peaked gate in between. These guys have sticky tongues and eyes- kids think it's gross- perfect !! It may have fog piped out the mouths. Gargoyles look out on the top. A day shot follows.

A little leftover foam forms Fluffy's House- The fog is on a timer.

Here is Mr Grim. He is a pvc frame covered with a black graduation gown and black plastic at the feet. He has a 'Living Faces' mold face made from Crayola Modeling Compound. At the base, I have a leaf blower on a remote switch. When the TOT'S pass by, I hit the remote, and they start running! Heh Heh Heh !! The white garbage bag will get replaced with a black one before Halloween.
