Popup Skull in Coffin
Inspired by Spooky F/X Coffin Knocker; mine is not as elaborate

The static coffin from 2005 was built with a plywood back, 14" wide pine boards and ages board for the front from old pallets (free). Bimba 11" stroke air cylinder with 1.25" bore is used

An ACC skull had its jaw made movable and corpsed in liquid latex and stretchy cobwebs. A little brown dye is added to the latex.

A extra hole was drilled in the back of the skull and a longer bolt is run through the hole to hold it in place
I made a little jig to hold the top the air cylinder tightly (recessed for the nut), so it does not shift.
Two thin 1/8" bungee cords prevent the head from turning. Adjusting the pull on each, adjusts where it looks. Blue light in the corner lights up the interior of the coffin. Uses 3 way solenoid valve and gravity reset.

Triggered up. Light clicks on before head rises by 0.5sec. MP3 player with powered speakers adds a scream

The tilted coffin when on grass, looks like part of it is buried in the ground
