Sheri
Moon Zombie was born on September 26th, 1970 in San Jose, CA as Sheri Lyn
Skurkis. Her and her family eventually moved to the east coast of the
United States where in high school she first showed an interest in
entertainment and at first was into choreography, dancing and modelling.
This eventually lead her into the music scene where she appeared in over
15 of boyfriend and future husband, Rob Zombie's, music videos for his
band White Zombie as well as his solo efforts. She even appeared on the
cover for his remix album 'American Made Music to Strip By'.
Sheri soon got a bigger role, one that would introduce her into the world of horror movies as one of the more memerable
characters to come along in recent years. In husband Rob Zombie's first horror film 'House Of 1000 Corpses. Sheri played the character 'Baby' Firefly, most memerable for her unmistakable and taunting insane giggle/laugh.
Sheri describes her character, "Baby is the bait for her psychotic family
to lure victims. She ultimately has higher aspirations of Hollywood stardom
but is stuck with her redneck, mass-murdering family." The film is horror fan's 'love letter' to the classic 1970's 'Grindhouse' style exploitation horror, particularly backwoods slasher flicks
like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and The Hills Have Eyes. Also, this film is filled to Rob Zombie's music and classic horror eye candy and lots of classic and experimental shots, some that compare similarily to the film 'Natural Born Killers'. Sheri also
bared her behind in a few scenes as well. Throughout the film there are various 'home movies' of Baby and her family performing various macabre rants similar to the home movies of the Manson Family in the 1970's. The movie was made in the year
2000 but due to was unable to find a distributor after Universal Pictures rejected the initial cut. Eventually it was release in April 2003
by Lions Gate in limited release. It was shunned by critics but instantly became a modern cult
classic.

After a minor appearance in Tobe Hooper's (Original
Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Poltergeist director) 'Toolbox Murders'
in 2004, Sheri returned as Baby Firefly in the 2005 Sequel
'The Devil's Rejects. The film takes place about 4 months after the end of House of 1000 Corpses. The police lead by a new sheriff have no located the family's house and are going to
take them down. Some are killed in the shootout, Mama Firefly is captured and Tiny is missing but Baby and her brother Otis escape and are on the run and are soon joined by Baby's father 'Captain Spaulding' from the first film. Them film follows the 3 family members
as they are on the run from the vengeful Sheriff and as the family hides out along the way various people are brutally tortured and murdered in 1970's Chainsaw Massacre, Last House On The Left style. This time, however, the film is a much more character and mood driven as opposed to the previous
film's visuals campy classic monster horror feel. Also, rather than filled with Rob Zombie songs, instead it contains some of the biggest 1970's rock classics throughout. When the film was released in 2005 it was a wide release this time and grossed far more than the original and this time around receive
praise from most critics who reviewed the movie.

Next up for Sheri was a turn as the mother of one of horror's most terrifying killers, Michael Myers in her husbands next film, a remake/re imagining of the John Carpenter classic "Halloween". Sheri plays "Deborah", a struggling stripper married to an abusive husband and a mother of three, one of them being
the boy who would grow up to be there terrifying killer. Though only featured in the first half of the movie, before her character's untimely suicide after a year of struggling to deal with the aftermath of the brutal murders of her husband, her teenage daughter and her daughter's boyfriend by her son Michael one Halloween night,
Sheri shows her most dramatic acting work to date. She truly shows how far she has grown as an actress over the years showing a genuine strong emotion in some heartbreaking and tragic scenes early on in the film. Hopefully more scenes would include her in the eventual sequel to the film.

Sheri once again returns in this years highly anticipated "Halloween II" which opens on August 28th, 2009 in a worldwide theatrical release. Even tho her character has now been deceased since Michael was a child. Her character, Deborah Myers, returns in visions and dreams that appear to Michael advising him to kill his sister Laurie, who survived
his wrath in the first movie. In scenes that appear in the trailer, this time her character appears to be more frightening and haunting than the earlier portrayal of the character in the previous film while the character was alive. I look forward to seeing this film in the coming weeks and see how the story continues. Apparently this is going to be the final
film in the remake series as Rob Zombie himself has said he is NOT going to make another one and that it apparently does not leave a possibly opening for any sequels. It seems he has made a point to finish off the story with this film. We will all just have to find out when it opens. If it is better than the last film it should be very good. I will be adding more things to this page
but I think this is good for now as before tonight I had not updated this site or this page in two years lol so I look forward to adding more on this beautiful and talented lady and hope she continues to not just make more movies but more horror movies with her husband and other film makes as well.
Stay Tuned!
