One of the best movies to come out of the 90's. Based on the story "The Forbidden" by Clive Barker from the Books Of Blood collection,
it tells the story of Helen, a woman doin a thesis on the Candyman legend in Cabini Green, New Orleans. Rumours that says when u look into a mirror and say his name,
"Candyman" five times he will appear behind you with a rusty hook jammed into the blood stump of his right hand and rip you to shreds. Candyman was the son of a slave, a painter who had a forbidden romance
with one of his white client's daughters and for this he was hunted down by a lynch mob, had his hand sawed off with a rusty blade and his naked body covered with honey only to be stung to death by
thousands of angry bees before the very eyes of his beloved. Now Candyman is a curse over Cabini Green do to his ashes having been spread over the area. "They will say that I have shed innocent blood. What's blood for, if not for shedding?
I am the writing on the wall, the whisper in the classroom! Without these things, I am nothing. So now, I must shed innocent blood. COME WITH ME!!"!

MOVIE FACTS:
There is a Guy Fawkes mask hanging next to Helen's bathroom mirror. Fawkes is an infamous figure in English history (an influence from Clive Barker's original story perhaps), who attempted to blow up the English Parliament on November 5, 1605. Every year the British celebrate Guy Fawkes Day by lighting bonfires and burning Fawkes in effigy.
