All submissions should be e-mailed to the_creature_of_legend@yahoo.com with "SW Submission" in the subject line. Somewhere in the beginning of the e-mail, please specify what you are submitting: poem, shot story, article, etc, the author's name or pen-name and whether or not you want your e-mail address published for the readers to send you comments. If you like, you can also include a link to your personal website and a small biography of yourself. Please only submit stuff that is your own. You retain all rights to your work
File formats:
Preferably as an attachment. Rich Text Format (.rtf), Word Document (.doc) {any version}, or Text document (.txt). If an attachment is out of the question, you can just put it in the body of the message itself.
For art attachment is preferable as well, best if it's in .gif or .jpg format. If you can not send it as an attachment, please specify the URL were the file can be downloaded from.
In your submission please include your name or pen-name that you
want me to put in the by-line. If you are submitting a work of short fiction,
please rate it: Y, G, PG, PG-13, or R (if you don't, I'll do it for you).
If I strongly dissagree with your rating (i.e. you rated your piece G and it's
got extreme violence and blunt adult themes), I may change it. A word about
sexual content: Please keep in mind that this is a dark fantasy and horror site,
not an erotica site. Sexual scenes had become a part of both ganres, so I am
not going to reject every story containing them. HOWEVER...
if you have a sex scene in your story, it must be Essential
to the storyline. Don't have it in there for the sake of having it in there,
I'm will ask you to edit it out or will reject the story.
If you are submittin a book or movie review, please include your rating: how
many stars out of five (half-stars premissible), director, screenwriter, year, who
stars in the mane role(s), and (if applicable) what is the move based on.
If you don't know who the screenwriter or whatever is, don't warry about it,
I'll find out. Not a big deal.
You may include and illustration for your story, article, or review. If you do so, you might want tell me where you want it put (begining, end, somewhere in the body of the story).
Another thing you might include is a short biography of yourself to be included in the profiles section. Some things you might want to include are an address of your homepage (if you have one), your picture (no porno, please), your ICQ and/or Yahoo! Messanger #s if you want the readers to be able to contact you. In your biography you can write whatever you want to: your accomplishments, goals, whether or not you've been published previously and where, what do you want to accomplish w/ your writing or art, etc. Please keep everything in your biography G rated. You may write your biography in first or third person, however you prefer. The way I'm going to do this is like this: your (pen-)name in the by-line of your submited piece is going to appear as a link. This link will lead to your pfofile page containing biography (your profile page will alos include your e-mail, if you'd rather not have you e-mail revealed, please tell me). After your biography, your profile page will contain links to all the works you've submited to SW so far, that way if a reader likes something you wrote and is interested in reading more of your stuff, they can easily find it. You do not have to send your biography every time you submit something to SW, I'll see if you've already sent it in the past and automatically link to it. If you want to make any changes to it in the future, just e-mail me and tell me what you want changed. Keep in mind that this biography thing is totally optional, you don't have to send it in if you don't want to.
