Within the town of Sterling, Connecticut, is a round cave one hundred feet in diameter, said to be one of the devil's hideouts. Known as the Devil's Den, the cave has two fissures fifty feet deep, one of which serves as an entryway. Oddly, this entryway also has a depression that reaches through to the outside, forming a natural chimney. Within the den there is a natural staiway that goes from the top all the way to the bottom of the rock wall. The constanly cold cave has often been explored, and many stories have been told of sightings of evil beings within it.
